ELskan FLY is a country-folk / Americana artist writing from the edge of real life — the kind you don’t dress up or smooth over.

Born in Manitoba’s Interlake region — a place of wide skies and what she calls “prairie seas” — and now based in New Zealand, her music sits somewhere between open landscapes and hard truths, shaped by both place and experience.

Her sound blends acoustic warmth with something sharper underneath — stories of love, breaking points, resilience, and the moment you realise things have to change. There’s a quiet strength in her writing, paired with an honesty that doesn’t try to impress — it just tells the truth.

After relocating to New Zealand, ELskan spent years immersed in rural life, working on farms and living close to the land. Those years, along with her Canadian roots, continue to shape her songwriting — grounded, observational, and deeply connected to place.

An award-winning songwriter, she has received recognition for tracks including Hard Grass Life, Keep On Drinkin’, and the instrumental The River. In 2025, songs Lion Den and Gloria, both from her upcoming album, were selected as semi-finalists in the International Songwriting Competition.

Her 2025 single Ride — a driving country track featuring fiddle and banjo, produced by Liam Kennedy-Clark — marked a turning point in her sound. Written for her son, who took up bull riding, it captures determination, focus, and the push to keep going when it matters most.

Her upcoming album, Lion Den, leans fully into that edge — honest, unfiltered, and grounded in the moments most people try to gloss over.
